Emma Shanahan

Emma graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. With a keen interest in sports injuries and biomechanics, she has twenty seven years experience working in gyms and multidisciplinary complementary health clinics. In 2000 she was invited to lecture at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine where she was a clinic tutor and osteopathic technique tutor for twelve years.
Emma also has a degree in Human Sciences from UCL and a diploma in Naturopathic Medicine, as well as her degree in Osteopathic Medicine. She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council –Osteopath Registration No: 2877
Osteopathy is a healthcare profession that utilises a patient focused, physical approach to restoring, maintaining and promoting physical and psychosocial well being. Primarily treatments take the form of a manual therapy involving massage, mobilisation and spinal manipulation for the treatment of musculo-skeletal problems. Pain can come from a wide variety of tissues including, muscles, ligaments, joints, nerves, bones and at times, organs.
Osteopathy is suitable for all areas of the body, not just the spine.
